Design and Performance Analysis of a 28 GHz Hexa-slot Antenna for Bangladesh's Emerging Smart Infrastructure in Medical Applications

Paper ID: 1

Abstract

This paper presents the development of a 28 GHz microstrip patch antenna designed for wireless body area networks (WBANs). The antenna, fabricated on a Rogers RT 5880 substrate, resonates at 2.32 GHz in free space and achieves a reflection coefficient of -30.33 dB at 28 GHz. It exhibits a peak gain of 4.08 dBi and 62% radiation efficiency in simulations. In WBAN scenarios, the antenna's performance improves when placed directly on the body, with a gain of 4.57 dBi, indicating its potential for effective use in real-world WBAN applications.
